Club's Speaker for July 25th Livestreamed on Facebook

The speaker for the July 25th meeting of the Rotary Club of Truro was Jo Ann Fewer, CEO of Perennia, an agriculture, food and bio-resource company headquartered in Truro. 

 

As an experiment, her presentation was "livestreamed" on Facebook. This is a relatively new facility of Facebook and the first time that it has been tried by the club.  It was meant to be posted directly to the Club's facebook page but instead went to  PDG Jim's personal FB Page and was subsequently shared with the club site. 

 

Despite that, it was watched live by 5 people, including 2 Rotarians..   Saved to the Club Facebook page, it can be viewed at any time by going to the club site at https://www.facebook.com/RotaryClubofTruro/. There are obviously things that can be improved (lighting makes a difference) but as a learning experience, it was enough to show the potential for the technology.
