Jol is currently one of 4 shareholders of a substantial Atlantic Canadian business (500 employees) based in the Miramichi with operations across Canada in construction, manufacturing, industrial supplies and professional services.

From 1980 to 2013 Jol held various roles with Grant Thornton and was a partner for 24 of those years. Other roles while with Grant Thornton include national roles in leading the Professional Services Advisory Practice and Family Business Succession as well as leading the firm’s Professional Development department and a unique role in Partner Support and Development.

In other volunteer capacities Jol supports 2 mission projects in Uganda and DRC, mentors emerging business people, assists in economic development initiatives in NL and Northern NB, co chairs Colchester Community Workshop Campaign and the Mount Allison Legacy Giving Campaign.

Jol has BComm, Mt Allison University 1980 and an MSc (Training and Human Resource Management) University of Leicester, UK. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise: Family Business Facilitator, a Certified Human Resource Professional and a Chartered Accountant since1982, scoring the top mark in Atlantic Canada as well as GT nationally
