Opening/Chair: The meeting was opened with the sound of the bell and the playing of O Canada. Mathew Berrigan was chair for the day.
Visitors/Guests: Our speaker, Brennan Gillis, CEO of Truro-Colchester Partnership, was the only guest today.
Speaker: Brennan shared a link with a video that was developed for the Partnership’s AGM to highlight activities. Staff has increased from 1 to 4. Projects include: Truro Colchester relocation guide, economic business guide, profile videos (Dal AC, Wicked Hops). Looked at Destination Marketing plan which hope to get underway in 2021. Profiling business parks. Jason Steele, Business Development Officer works one on one with businesses to support start-ups and growth, he described the business accelerator program and profiled a success story. A Crisis Management Tool was developed to help businesses manage COVID 19. They are looking at shared working space opportunities for local businesses. Accelerated marketing funding to help support tourism operators in Cumberland and Colchester. Deliver Connector Program, connects new graduates with businesses. The physician recruitment program works with partners to support physician tours and other initiatives.
Member Health: Wayne Gillis visited Garth and Trinkie Coffin. Garth had been hospitalized in PEI but is now back at the cottage where they plan to stay until the end of August.
Announcements and Reports: Rotary Cares – Alana noted that a community assessment meeting took place in Portapique last week. From this a plan will be developed to upgrade the community hall. The committee is vey close to being able to roll out a project.

Jim Harman was happy to be able to go sky diving for his 65th Birthday and for his partner (Kyle) for hosting a wonderful party for him.
