Committee Reports
Yearbook: Joanna and the Yearbook committee have met twice in the past 2 weeks, It is noted that of the 175 who advertised in the last yearbook, there are 57 who have yet to pay. So they are working on resolving that. Also trying to decide how to proceed with the Yearbook for next year. Should the format be as previous, should it be online only, etc. Joanna asked for feedback and ideas and there was some discussion on the topic.
Foundation: Rod has had difficulty accessing our club’s foundation information. He is working with the District Foundation chair and will be reporting back in a couple of weeks.
Rotary Cares: Alana says there has been lots of activity on the Portapique project in the past 2 weeks. Working on grant possibilities, and firming up numbers before soliciting for pledges. The electrical has been done, new lights and fans, the heat pump is ordered, the old stove was sold.
President’s Report: President Jane noted there is a board meeting on Tuesday September 1st. The agenda will be sent out. Everyone is welcome to attend board meetings. A reminder there is no Rotary Club meeting next Monday, Labour Day. September is Basic Education and Literacy Month. The Rotary Atlantic Conference, joint District 7820 and 7810, will be a zoom meeting on October 24th. There has been a request to send in photos of activities of our club. Not cheque presentations. Please send any to Jane or Anna, they will be used for display at the conference. Spouses or partners are welcome to attend the speaker portion of our club meetings. The TLC training is on Saturday September 12th. Alana has sent out the link. Matthew Hunter is swimming for the United Way on September 5th in Chester Basin. Sponsors most welcome.
