After lots of background work, a full shipping container has been loaded with former Truro hospital equipment and destined for Fond-des Blancs, Haiti.

The success of this project would not have happened without the joint support of so many community members within Truro.

From the initial phase of removing equipment from the hospital into storage, to cleaning the equipment with Interact students, and packing, there was an over-whelming number of Rotarians involved, each playing an integral role in this project.  Rotarians such as Mike Hanes of Premiere Van Lines Truro, contributed through transporting donations from various groups and loading the container

In addition to hospital equipment, home-made durable mats were supplied by the UCW, towels from Best Western Glengarry, linens from Central Laundry, latex gloves from the IWK.

A Rotary District Grant allowed supplies such as books, surgical drapes, gauzes, and castings to fill out the container.

Rotarians truly pulled together and worked very hard to achieve this exciting goal.
