Jul. 14, 2018 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Join us as we show our Pride in the parade next Saturday, July 14. We will once again be joining the Dal AC crew on their float (i.e. hay trailer and tractor!) as we party through the streets of Truro. The parade starts at 2:00pm and runs for about an hour, starting at the Colchester Legion Stadium parking lot, and ending at Civic Square. If you plan to participate on the float or walking beside it, please register now so we know numbers. You will have to choose to walk or ride, it is too dangerous to get on and off while the parade is in motion. Those people walking may hand out candy; it is not to be thrown from the float. You must be on the float and ready to go by 1:00pm on Saturday. For more information on the parade, please see their Facebook event, https://www.facebook.com/events/1614809175299616. I've got my rainbow tutu fluffed up and ready to go. Hope to see you there! |

Calling all swimmers...... We are organizing a 5th "Swim for Polio" at Shortt's Lake on Sunday, August 19th at 9:30 am. It is hard to believe, but in the 4 years that we have been doing the Swim for Polio, we have contributed over $15,000 to the cause. Specifically, in 2016, we raised $1400. When matched 2-1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation this becomes $4200! 2015 we raised $3000. When matched with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation this amounted to $9000! 2014 we raised $825 became $2475. All this equals $15,675. This year, swimmers can join the group on Sunday, August 19th 2018 at 9:30 am so they can do their swim. On Aug 19th, Richard Bowness will take swimmers across the lake and accompany them back. (Meet at Bowness' a little before 9:30 am). You can be on the boat as a spotter if you are not swimming.
