Opening/Chair: Al Cooze was the chair today and he led the group in the singing of O Canada himself. This was followed by the moment of personal reflection.

Visitors/Guests: Jordan Butler was the guest of Brian Matthews. Jordan would be inducted as a member later in the meeting.

Speaker: As this was the day of the AGM, there was no speaker.

Member Health: No report.

Announcements and Reports:

Darlene reported that we had a nice think you from the DalAC student who had been awarded the club's international scholarship.
Alana reported that registration for the Christmas Brunch was very low. She needed to know before Tuesday noon if more were going or there was the chance the event would have to be cancelled.
Terry reminded those attending the Christmas Social Tuesday night to bring panties (or money) for the project to support the Lotus Centre. Remember it is Giving Tuesday.

President's Report: President Lech proceeded to induct Jordan Butler as a new member. (see story below)

Happy Mug:

Ed MAcDonald was happy to have seen Bette MacDonald recently
Kirk was happy with his new electric bike and was waiting for his studded winter tires.
Jim Harman was happy to still be with us after hitting a rock on the road and damaging the rim of his car. The third tire this year.
Brian was happy to have a new member for the club

50/50: Ted Jordan had the winning ticket but could not find the joker, so the $12.00 pot builds.

Closing: The regular meeting closed at 12:45 to be followed by the AGM.

New Member Inducted

President of the Rotary Club of Truro Lech Krzywonos, was pleased to induct a new member at our Dec 2, 2019 meeting. Jordan Butler is the Branch Manager, TD Canada Trust in Truro. His club sponsor is Rotarian Brian Matthews.

Jordan was born in Toronto and moved to Fall River when he was 13. He went to St. Mary's University. He was offered full-time employment with TD after spending a couple months as a teller and has now been with TD for over 4 years in 4 different branches.

Jordan volunteers with CCW and is a cabinet member for the capital campaign project as lead for the financial institutions sector. He has settled in Truro having bought his first home. His girlfriend Kristen is an RN at the Hospital and they have 1 dog and 2 kittens.
