Guest Speaker: Rick Janega, President and CEO Emera, Newfoundland and Labrador. with responsibility for The Maritime Link Project.

Rick Janega was appointed President, Emera Newfoundland & Labrador in February 2011.   Prior to this appointment, Rick was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Nova Scotia Power Inc.; before that he was Vice President, Operations and General Manager of Power Production including hydro facilities.

Rick has also been Director of Business Development for generation projects at Emera Inc., Director of Plant Operations, and Senior Manager at both Trenton and Point Tupper generating stations. Rick joined Nova Scotia Power in 1989. He was previously in construction management, manufacturing, and the pulp and paper industry.

A graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia (Dalhousie University), Rick is a professional engineer and member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia.

Rick is an alumnus of the Governor General’s Leadership Conference.​
