President's Report:

President Alana highlighted a number items from the July 4th Director's meeting.
  • The Club was still talking to the Boys and Girls Club about their requests and they will be speaking to the club in September.
  • The 2017-18 Presidential Citation goals were reviewed. The Club already does most of the requirements and would continue to watch and work toward it.
  •  Executive will meet over the summer to flush out the strategic plan for roll-out at a September meeting.
  • It was reported that there was still work to do on the Yearbook with many clients to visits.  Lech and the team are on it.
  • For the Community committee it was reported that:
    • $300 had been approved to support NSPE tickets for Youth
    • That $1426 had been approved for an IPAD communicator for a person with disabilities.
    • an amount had been approved for wheelchair maintenance.
  • The Ad Hoc committee on Lunches made a report and recommendations. Issues considered included:
    • The cost of the meals
    • The low percentage of members attending the lunch meetings.
    • The annual deficit that the club incurred as a result of not meeting the weekly minimum set for the Glengarry.
    • The venue for the meeting as alternative to control costs.

  • As a result;
    • The Glengarry has offered to reduce the daily minimum for the meetings from 35 to 25 to reduce the deficit. (Thank you Judy)
    • It is recommended that the club resume weekly meetings all year long including the summer.  The board would consider this for next year
    • That Corporate sponsorship be more aggressively sought for events such as Charter night, the Christmas breakfast and other events to keep costs under control.
    • That a policy be developed to implement a set admin fee or levee from the Community account that can to be transferred to the Club account. It was agreed this would be pursued.
  • The committee of Adam and Wayne were thanked for their work on this task.
  • The Membership Committee was considering a community awareness/outreach event in October.
  • Alana reminded all members of the next Directors meeting will be held Aug 8th at 7:00 pm at the home of Rod Jones.  #309 Loon Lane,  Brookfield. All welcome.
  • Also reminded that the next regular meeting of the club was August 14th.
