Opening/Chair: President Ted was chair for the day and asked Alana to lead the group in the singing of O Canada.  This was followed by the moment of personal reflection.
 
Visitors/Guests:  There were no visitors or guests at the meeting today.
 
Member Health: As reported lased week, President Ted's son had been struck by a car in Halifax over a week ago. Ted reported that he was still in an induced coma and the doctors monitoring his condition before attempting to bring him out of it.  Club members expressed their wishes for Ted and his family. 
 
Happy Mug: Joanna and Kirk were both happy Rotarians this week.  
 
50/50: Joanna had the correct number however it took her 5 tries to find the joker so the $75 pot continues to build.
 
Announcements and Reports: 
  • Judy asked if anyone was interested in hosting the summer social this year to please see her.  Any Sunday from the 9th of July to middle of August. It would be the usual pot luck.
  • It was reported that the club was going to try to have a presence in the pride parade in Truro on July 29th.  That was the same day as the Camp Tidnish Open house.  People asked if there was interest in car pooling to Camp Tidnish or in being in the parade.  An signup for each would be sent out.
President's Report: 
 
President Ted Highlighted some decision of the June Directors meeting. The full report can be found on the with other Directors meeting minutes.
  • Club discussed getting Rotary Flags for use at the meetings and elsewhere.
  • Approved $500 to the Rotary club of St Pierre et Miquelon that is looking to raise $2000 to support a district grant goal.
  • The club approved paying the 20 dollar entrance fee and will be welcoming any members to walk in the pride parade as Rotarians on July 29th
  • The donation to Bright Skies day camp has been returned to the trust as they had not been able to get charitable status.
  • Truro Boys and Girls club would be coming forward with a renewed ask from the Bethel trust.
  • Approved $3000 to go toward a machine to help a young child with HSE
  • Approved the $518.45 to help buy a machine for a person with speech impairment. 
  • An education facility in Honduras is looking to set up an Entrepreneurship facility. Cost of $1,000USD would purchase computers. Further discussion for the future.

Turn over Ceremony
The Rotary Club completed the turnover of executives at the semi annual meeting held on June 26th.  Outgoing President Ted Jordan Presented Alana Hirtle with the President's Pin and Alana in turn presented the gavel plaque to Ted in recognition of his great service to the club during the past year.
