The Rotary Club of Truro inducted three new members into the club at their regular meeting February 11th 2013. President Laurie welcomed the three into Rotary and wished them all the best.  Congratulations Rebecca, Erica and Andrew and thank you to Wayne, Laurie and Ed for proposing them.


ImageRebecca Taylor lives in Londonderry with her husband Dan and their two daughters, along with a variety of farmyard and household pets. In 2009, Rebecca founded Pearl and Daisy Natural Soap Company, manufacturing handcrafted soap and bath products that are now sold in more than 100 stores across Canada and the USA. Her company is located in Debert at the Industrial Mall owned by CoRDA. Rebecca is an active member of her community and is currently leading a recreational group for girls aged 11 – 15. She is a member of the Londonderry Community Council, as well as the “Along the Shore Community Health Board.



ImageRaised as a military child, Erica Penton had moved 11 times by the age of 22 and didn’t stop there. Favorite spots include Colorado Springs, Bristol, England and part of Vancouver Island so remote that even the newspaper arrived 3 days late. An avid traveler and reader, she holds degrees in Circus Arts, English Literature and Irish Studies and Library and Information Studies. She speaks French and is currently learning Arabic. Erica loves to sew and hopes to one day have a completely self-made wardrobe. She has yet to conquer tailoring pants though!



ImageAndrew MacDonald has had lifelong interaction with the automotive recycling industry. Growing up in NS, he worked for his family’s auto recycling business from a young age. He went on to graduate from the University of Waterloo with a B.A. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.  After university, he worked over three years in Quality Control Engineering at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada. He then moved into purchasing at Toyota where he managed all North American supplier processes and tooling for new model Lexus business. Andrew recently re-joined the auto recycling industry and is now owner of Maritime Auto Parts in Truro, NS.
