ImageRotarians were well represented at this year's Rotary House Golf Challenge. It was delayed a week due to inclement weather, and thankfully, it was a glorious autumn day for Wednesday's event. We can be very proud of Rotarian support for this event, as 13 of our members were golfing or volunteering. Additionally, four Rotarians planned on attending and worked to secure pledges, but with the change in tournament date, had conflicting schedules.

Diane Standing, Colchester Community House's Executive Director, reports $27,000 was raised to further the programs at Rotary House. This year we had TWO Rotary teams, "Duffers" and "Aces", who were the top two fundraising teams for the tournament. The Duffers raised $2,532 and the Aces were close behind at $2,460. The top individual fundraiser for the tournament was our own Dave Mills who alone raised $1,155!  Well Done, Dave!

The players/fundraisers for the teams were: Duffers - Dave Mills, Jodi Mattie, Wayne Gillis, Coffin, Laurie Sandeson, Will Ross, Richard Bowness. Aces - Al Begin, Ed MacDonald, Joanna Christianson, Jim Gould, Mike Topley, Brian Matthews. Sharon Corcoran and Sarah Campbell were also playing with their respective corporate teams, and Frank Cassidy was an on-course volunteer.

As Rotarian Kirk Saint's photos will attest, a good time was had by all!

Yours in Rotary

Richard Bowness
