Shanthanu Krishnakumar came to Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in the fall of 2014 in the Horticultural Technology degree program. He left the familiarity of his home town of Coimbatore in Southern India to complete his degree at Dalhousie University (Dal AC) in Truro, Nova Scotia.

While at Dal AC, he not only survived all the changes and cultural adjustments, he excelled and grew. He quickly became a leader for the international students and the campus.

His desire to help and appetite for new experiences lead him to seek assistance from the Rotary Club of Truro to attend the RYLA on the Rock conference in the summer of 2015. In his presentation to the Rotary Club of Truro in September 2015  Shanthanu spoke of the great experiences in St. John’s Newfoundland which included, “kissing the cod”!  Most importantly Shanthanu promised to get involved in the Rotaract Club in Guelph during his Masters studies.

True to his word Shanthanu has joined the Rotaract Club in Guelph and it is only a matter of time before he makes a positive impact on his new community.  The Rotary Club of Truro is pleased to have been able to support Shanthanu in his introduction to Rotary.
