The Rotary Club of Truro has two new features to improve communication. A Facebook fan page has been created and a Twitter microblog site has been established for the Club.

The new Facebook fan page can be found at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rotary-Club-of-Truro/62552913756.  Once you are registered as a "fan" on the site you are able to post pictures, create events notices and send message to other fans.  Creating albums and posting photos to the Facebook page is easier than on the main website. If you are familiar with Facebook you will find this page useful.

The Twitter site is found by going to Twitter http://twitter.com/ and searching for the Rotary Club of Truro.  Twitter allows you to post a short news item to the site and people register to "follow" the posts (or tweets as they are called) in real time. Rotary International and several other clubs have Twitter sites and once you have a twitter account you can register to follow what is happening there as well.

Twitter is a newer technology than Facebook and is especially popular with the younger generation for communication.  It is most attractive when you set it up on your mobile phone or blackberry and get instant communications.  Like Facebook it is free to register and use on the web.  If you use the SMS feature for your phone there may be cel phone text message charges.

I have created these sites for club use.  Please let me know if you have questions or would like a demo.  They are not meant to replace the club website but rather act an enhancement.
