ImagePreparations are underway for the 2013 GSE program, between our Rotary District 7820 and District 3310 which comprises Singapore, Brunei and part of Malaysia. Our District Group Study Exchange (GSE) Committee is seeking suitably qualified applicants to be selected as Team Members for this exiting opportunity.

The Study Exchange will occur the four weeks between 18th May - 14th June 2013.  There will be also be time needed before then for orientation and planning once selection of team members has been made.

This is an exciting opportunity for personal growth and development.

The GSE program is an initiative of the Rotary Foundation whereby participating districts throughout the world are matched with another district and teams of four young professionals from each district, accompanied by a Team Leader spend a period of four weeks on a cultural and vocational exchange.

During the exchange team members share personal knowledge of their own country and experience the customs, vocations and lifestyles of the host country and in this way promote international understanding and goodwill through person-to-person contact.

While in D3310, team members will stay in local Rotarians’ homes and have the opportunity to meet their professional counterparts. They will also make presentations about our particular region of Eastern Canada both to individual Rotary clubs and also at their District 3310 Conference in Thailand. The Rotary Foundation provides a round-trip air ticket, and local Rotarians in the host country provide meals, lodging and group travel in their district. Team members pay only for personal and incidental expenses.

The deadline for Team members application is August 10th, 2012, which will allow sufficient time to complete the requisite training and planning process.

Individuals interested in applying must meet the following criteria and be:

  • employed full-time in a recognized business or profession
