The Annual Adopt a Highway clean-up was held Saturday May 27th. The group of 11 hardy Rotarians met at the Canadian Tire parking lot at 9 am and then moved over to the Hwy 102 / Robie Street interchange to collect all the paper and plastic they could.  The NS Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal provided the vests and bags and picked up the bags from the roadside.

While it was cloudy, overcast and on the cool side, the Rotarians collected approximately 25 bags of trash. There was consensus that this was down from previous years which is a good thing.  In addition to the beer cans, coffee containers and car parts the group usually picks up, the most interesting find was the pregnancy test kit and the empty birth control container found a short distance from one another.

Thanks to everyone for this community service.
