Rotary Club of Truro Bulletin

The Start — Chairperson, Kevin Quinlan called the meeting to order. Following the national anthem and grace, Kevin gave a thorough introduction. In Kevin's family, there were nine children: six boys and three girls — sufficient for a hockey team and necessary officials. Kevin had an unusual post-secondary education experience: it included graduating at levels from certificate to bachelor to master to doctor at St. Francis Xavier, University of Toronto, Memorial University and University of New Brunswick (perhaps not in that order) He and his wife have four children two of whom are university graduates and two of whom are college graduates. One of his sons is a tradesmen in Newfoundland and earns such a handsome income that it shows the futility of seeking post-graduate education rather than becoming a qualified tradesman. Kevin is the Principal of Truro Community College. Kevin and his wife are world travellers who have visited many exotic, warm countries. They, however, as a special treat are going on a tour of Newfoundland!

Attendance — 71%

Fun Fines — David Mills fined all in attendance who have not made any serious attempt to enter into the Christmas spirit.

Happy Mug —Jody Mattie was very, very, very happy, Joe Nicholson, Joanna Christianson, and Ed MacDonald were just very happy.

Visitors and Guests: Visiting Rotarian, David Morrison,  of the Royal Club of Charlottetown was a welcome visitor.
50/50 Draw — Even with assistance of Marilyn Brown, Mike Topley was unable to find the elusive Joker for the sum of $31.50.
